KEEPERS

An experimental physical theatre duet exploring vigilance, isolation, and the labor of keeping systems alive.

In a world where communication systems have failed, KEEPERS unfolds inside a lighthouse that still functions, though no one knows why. Signals are sent. Rituals continue. The response remains uncertain.

Two keepers sustain the light through repetition, physical labor, and acts of maintenance that arise from necessity rather than belief. Ritual becomes survival — a practice that preserves attention, identity, and responsibility in isolation.

Built through movement scores and relational listening, the performance treats light and sound as active collaborators. Language appears only in fragments, replaced by embodied communication shaped through endurance and shared vigilance.

KEEPERS explores what it means to hold responsibility when no confirmation ever comes — and what persists when care must continue without certainty of response.

Audience Notes: This performance includes low-light conditions, use of a smoke machine, and moments of darkness. It may include brief moments of strobe lighting. No audience participation is required.
